Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan - Preferred Approach Consultation (January 2023)

Broxtowe Borough, Gedling Borough, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe Borough Councils are currently undertaking a review of the Aligned Core Strategies. This will result in the production of the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan. 

The plan looks at how Greater Nottingham’s longer-term development needs can be met up to 2038 supported by more detailed policies which will be developed in each council’s own individual Local Plan.

The Councils have prepared a Preferred Approach document, on which comments are now invited.  The focus of the Preferred Approach is on the amount and distribution of housing and employment development in the area and the location of strategically important sites up to 2038.

All comments should be submitted using this online system. Using our consultation portal ensures your comments are securely received, can be processed efficiently and reduces the unnecessary use of paper.

To submit comments: 

• View the online document or navigate by using the chapter headings using the links below;
• There are comment boxes at the end of each chapter of the document and for each site; 
• There is a separate comment box if your comment relates to the background and supporting documents.
