Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan - Growth Options Consultation Extension (February 2021)

Background

Broxtowe Borough, Gedling Borough, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe Borough Councils are developing the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan which sets out the policies to help guide future development up to 2038.

In July 2020, Broxtowe Borough, Gedling Borough, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe Borough Councils carried out a public consultation on the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan Growth Options document.

From 10th February 2021 to 24th March 2021 we carried out an extended consultation period after being made aware that some comments had been blocked by security software and not received.

The Growth Options document asked a series of questions on topics including housing growth, employment growth and economic development, climate change and carbon neutrality, city and town centres, the natural environment, urban design, the historic environment, safe and healthy communities, Green Belt and infrastructure provision.

What are the next steps?

Following completion of the extended consultation period, all of the responses received are being carefully considered and will inform the production of a ‘Preferred Options’ document. There will be an opportunity to submit comments following the publication of this document later this year.
